Twenty-five years of plates

Halftone has been making offset plates since 2001. Twenty-five years is long enough to have seen every kind of file, every kind of press, and every kind of deadline.

What we actually do

We turn a customer's file into a printing plate. That sounds simple, and on a good day it is: a clean file goes to output and an hour later there are plates on the counter. The rest of the time it means finding the missing font, fixing the bleed that isn't there, redrawing the logo that arrived as a low-resolution screenshot, and calling the customer before a mistake becomes a print run.

Why speed matters here

A press that isn't printing is losing money every minute. That's the whole reason our turnaround is what it is. Sixty minutes isn't a marketing number — it's the gap between a press waiting and a press running.

The market we serve

Printers, packaging producers, publishers and design studios. Some send us a file a week, some send us twenty a day. We stock nine plate sizes precisely so that we don't have to tell anybody "not that one".
